Nicole is a soon to be bride and we needed some additional images for one of the albums we are creating for her wedding day. I just loved this image of her and it’s my favorite picture of the week.

A couple of weeks ago I received an email from Jessica in Washington State saying she was going to be in town for a few days visiting her fiance Justin and wanted us to photograph their engagement session. As with all my sessions we met first for a no-obligation consultation to go over when and where we were going to photograph, clothing, hair and what style they liked. She loves vintage so it was a match made in heaven for me. Photo awesomeness takes a little planning and I find that meeting with a client first makes the transition easier for them when I pull my camera. A More Relaxed YOU = Photo Goodness.
We had a great afternoon on 89th Street in Virginia Beach just walking around talking, laughing and taking pictures. I have been so fortunate this year to work with some great couples. I wish you both the best and hope your marriage is filled with love, respect and romance.

We spent a few days in the Outer Banks of North Carolina at Duck and then in Kill Devil Hills with some friends over the long 4th of July weekend. Our friends the Lambs had 25 people over for a yummy spaghetti meal on Monday and while hanging out I took a cute little photograph of their grand daughter. She is just too cute with her two teeth showing.

Vicki and I have been talking with each other since last November about doing a “Trash the Dress” session when the weather warmed up. Well the warm weather is here and we finally got together yesterday for some photo awesomeness. Michele and I don’t do a lot of themed sessions since we are all about Real Moments, Real Emotion and Real Fun as the motto for our business. I can tell ya when we started shooting we got that and then some from Rocky and Vicki. Michele even said when we got home that was their session was the most erotic and sexy photo shoot we have ever done and I agree.
We love when we have two people that are so into each other and are willing to allow us to just be there and capture these incredible moments. I will be posting more pics to this post soon, just trying to give them a sneak peak while we are playing catch up on wedding and other recent sessions. Hope you enjoy viewing these as much as we did photographing them.
Do you have a wedding dress and want some romantic images of you and your hubby together? Give us a call to schedule a “Trash the Dress” session for you.

We are going to try something new so my blog posts are more frequent and varied. We are calling these posts “Favorite Pic of the Week”. Here is one from Samantha and Andy’s Photo Safari Session. Here is my favorite from the set.

It’s been awhile since we had been to Fort Monroe Army Base to do bridal photography. When Shelly and I were discussing locations for her session she mentioned that she liked the bridal portraits we did with Amy two years ago at the Casemate Museum and the Chamberlin Hotel. The first day of summer to take these portraits was summer like, mid 90′s with an ample amount of humidity. Shelly, her daughter, her mom and Michele were all real troopers toughing out the heat long enough for us to take these amazing images. Shelly’s wedding is this Saturday and we are looking forward her wedding day.
Fort Monroe is an beautiful location to take bridal portraits or hold a wedding at one of the historic chapels on base. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fort_Monroe

Andy and Samantha are a new couple (in Love). They wanted some pictures together at the Virginia Beach oceanfront on Fort Story and downtown Norfolk. They both did awesome and like I mentioned to them during the session Andy really brought his A game. Most guy’s are kinda stiff and hesitant to let their guard down for natural images to happen. From the first click on they just looked so happy and comfortable together. Great couple and a lot of fun for everyone.
They choose our “Photo Safari Portrait Session” which is our most popular portrait package with multiple locations and outfit changes. If your trying to create a nice album it gives you so many options and looks with a portrait session. We were on the edge of the rain that day so they urban portion in downtown Norfolk was rescheduled for tomorrow but I wanted to post up these so they could take a sneak peak. Enjoy.

We are only a few hours away from Danielle and Damon’s wedding at the Princess Anne Country Club in Virginia Beach so I figured it was safe to finally blog about her fabulous bridal session. Danielle choose us as her photographers last year and if you search to last Fall you will find the engagement session we did with them at Town Center.
She choose the Norfolk Botanical Gardens for the beauty of the surroundings and her theme has pretty much been “Modern Vintage Couture” which is a perfect fit for us and the grounds made for some perfect imagery. Gonna be a great day in Virginia Beach for a wedding, check the blog in a few for some wedding awesomeness.
If you are an engaged bride to be in Hampton Roads or the Outer Banks of North Carolina we would love to chat and see if we are the right photographer for you. Contact us at 757-560-2997 or see more photography at:

Boy’s it’s been awhile since I took pictures of Sophie’s children. Logan was just a tiny baby and Lydia just turned two. Fast forward two years and Logan is just cute as a button and Lydia, well still the precocious one but tons of fun, laughter and smiles out of her. We did a mini-session with them (need to be a Facebook Fan sometimes to hear about all the cool stuff.)
Mini-sessions are great for little ones, they get to play for 1/2 an hour while we shoot. In that time we can get some really great pics and they aren’t burned out about the experience. Turn your Virginia Beach photo session into a play day with your children at the beach or park. Natural and fun, these sessions bring out the kid in all of us.

Nicole and and her mother Karen met me last year at a bridal show I was a part of with Tanya at http://www.tanyasgracefuldesigns.com. They will be married in October at the http://www.hamptonmarinahotel.com/ in Hampton. Nicole and her fiance Lee did some scouting and decided that they would like their engagement session to be photographed at Sandy Bottom Park in Hampton.
I meet with a lot of couples and sometimes you just feel a great vibe with the love and happiness they share. We had a great time at the park and wrapped up right on time so they could have their date night. Michele and I are looking forward to spending more time with them in the next few months and photographing their wedding in the Fall.

Monica is in the Air Force and wanted some model inspired images for herself. After our pre-consultation (we always do one) she decided the best feel was more of an urban style session. You know we love shooting in Olde Towne Portsmouth for these. So much history, great street scenes and the waterfront area. It’s always changing with revitalization always going on.
We had to deal with the wind which wasn’t great since she has awesome long hair but we did our best. These are a few that I selected for the sneak peak.
